Panthelion is a dynamic San Francisco Bay Area group consisting of Andrew Currier, upright string bass; Jeff Bordes, trumpet; and Laxman Drivas, percussion.

Composer and bass player, Andrew Currier offers his classical training and passion for music beyond genre identification to write the improvisational music for Panthelion. With equal measures of jazz, world, blues, and popular styles, Panthelion grows in new directions. Funky bass lines and New Jack Swing grooves play along with classic jazz style melodies. This is not your grandpa's favorite jazz combo. Panthelion delivers a diverse, youthful, and hip sound. In its diversity, Panthelion brings exuberant live performances and is sure to set the mood and please the audience.

Panthelion has shared the stage with well-known acts such as india.irie, Ozomatli, Blackalicious, Ani DiFranco and performed at various music festivals including Earthdance, Lightning in the Bottle, and the High Sierra Music Festival.

Life After 339, Panthelion’s 2006 recording release has been receiving radio airplay throughout North America. It proves to be a contemplative and joyous at-home listening experience.
