Andrew Currier is a dynamic, multi-talented instrumentalist and a pioneering composer, most well-known as composer, bassist, and founding member of Bay Area ensemble, Panthelion. Currier performs in a number of music groups and orchestras including the Santa Cruz Symphony; the Monterey Symphony, the American Musical Theater of San Jose, and the Russian Chamber Orchestra. Spanning roots rock, electronica, and world music, Currier also plays with the Jimmy Leslie Trio, Alex Theory Live, and the Guadame Ensemble. In the jazz world, Currier has performed with renowned pianists Larry Vuckovich and Mark Levine. His projects have shared the stage with well-known acts such as India.Arie, Ozomatli, Blackalicious, and Ani DiFranco and performed at various music festivals including Earthdance, Harmony Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, and High Sierra Music Festival. During his studies of both music performance and composition, Currier earned a Bachelor's degree in composition from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
